The Finlandia Hall is the best example of modern Scandinavian architecture and design. Designed by the world famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, it is a landmark of Helsinki on shore of the Töölö Bay. Architect Aalto's grand vision and his love of natural light provides the meeting an inspiring setting. The Finlandia Hall is easy to reach from all corners of Helsinki and after the meeting, it is easy to walk back to the hotels along the Bay.
Taxi
Taxi stands are located just outside of the exits of the arrival areas of both terminals. All taxis have regulated fares, standardized meters and they accept both credit and debit cards and cash. They also have an electronic-printer receipt system. Most of the taxi drivers speak English and they are familiar with the location of the meeting hotels and the Finlandia Hall.

Finnair City Bus
The Finnair City Bus stops are located in front of the arrival areas of the terminals. In terminal 1, the Finnair City Bus stops at the bus stop number 1 and in terminal 2, at bus stop number 10. The ticket cost 6,80 € and it can be bought from the driver.

Train
Local trains I and P connect the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport with the Helsinki city center. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Please buy your ticket from the ticket machine in the terminal or at the train platform before entering the train, or alternatively you can use the HSL app. Tickets are not available on the trains.
Bus
Buses number 615 and 415 connect the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport with central Helsinki. These buses depart from platform 25 outside of Terminal 2. Tickets can be bought from the ticket machine at the platform, or from the driver.
Helsinki has three passenger harbors in Helsinki. All have excellent connections to central Helsinki and taxis are available in front of the terminals. For public transportation, please check the HSL Journey Planner for the best routes: https://www.reittiopas.fi/en
Helsinki Central Railway Station is located in the heart of the city. Finlandia Hall and the HQ-hotel can be reached in 12 minutes by walking or in 8 minutes by tram (number 4 toward Munkkiniemi or number 10 toward Pikku Huopalahti).

The meeting badge must be visible at all times during the meeting and at all meeting events.

Entry to social program events is by pre-registration only and for every event you need to show a valid event ticket. Please check when you register at the meeting that you have received all tickets to events that you have registered to.
Certificates of attendance and poster presentation will be provided by request registered participants and poster presenters at the registration desk.
The private nature of the meeting allows presentation of the most recent, often unpublished results, thus the discussions should inspire new research directions and ideas. In order to maintain confidentiality of the data and topics, filming, audio recording or photographing is strictly prohibited at the posters or during the talks.
Your registration fee includes a complimentary travel card for Helsinki Region Public Transportation. The card provides free travels on trams, buses, local trains, metro and the Suomenlinna Ferry in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen. Please remember to carry your travel card at all times when you travel on the public transportation or you might be subject to an inspection fine of 80 €. You will receive the travel card at the registration.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms at the Finlandia Hall. Name of the Wi-Fi is "IVBM2018" and the password is "Vascular". These are also available at the Registration desk.
In Finland the power sockets are of type F. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
Tap water quality is high in Finland and the tap water is drinkable.
